1. Can we pick what music gets played?

We encourage you to be as involved as you can in the music selection for your Wedding Reception. Our clients will generally provide us with some music selections that they “must have” for their reception. On average during the dancing portion of a reception, we play anywhere between 50and 60 songs.

2. How far in advance should we book Chicago Dance Party?

Ceremonies and Wedding Receptions are booked anywhere from 6 months to 1 year in advance.

3. What if we want a song that you don't have?

We guarantee 100% of your requests! As long as we have your final song list one month prior to the wedding, and the music is available to buy.

4. Can the DJ's use a fog machine, bubble machine, or confetti cannon?

We have fog machines, bubble machines, and confetti cannons available for a nominal fee. Be sure to check with your banquet facility to verify they allow them as most do not!

5. How many appointments can I make withChicago Dance Party?

As many as you need! Most couples will have a minimum of two meetings, one initial meeting when you book, and another approximately one month prior to the wedding to finalize the specific details. However, if you need to come in for more meetings to listen to music or to ask any questions we will be glad to accommodate you.

6. What if I cannot make it into the office for ameeting?

If you are unable to make it into our office, we can always have a phone consultation to go through any details and to answer and all of your questions.

7. Is set-up time included in your price?

There is no extra cost for setup or breakdown of equipment. We charge only for the actual time we play.

8. Can we make a DO-NOT-PLAY list?

Absolutely! Along with a must play list you can make a DO-NOT-PLAY list, including any song titles, artists, or styles of music you would not like to hear.

9. What if I don't know the name of a song?

If you are unsure of the title or artist of a song our staff would be more than happy to research anything for you. Just let us know as much as you know about the song, and we'll go from there!

10. Do you charge a downtown fee?

Yes! Working in Downtown Chicago requires extra set-up and breakdown time in addition to the cost of parking. In most cases there is a $100 extra charge for Downtown locations.

11. How much is the deposit for booking?

The deposit to reserve your date is $100.00. The balance is due the night of your reception. Final Payment is acceptable the date of your reception or anytime earlier.

12. Is tax or gratuity included in the pricing?

Gratuity or tipping for our DJ's is not mandatory. If you feel the DJ's have surpassed your expectations, and you'd like to further thank them, feel free to tip them. The DJ's would love the compliment.

13. Do you provide back-up equipment? 

Definitely! All our DJs carry back-up music and equipment with them at all times.

14. Should we feed the DJ?

That is completely up to you. With setup and takedown time, we'll often be at your event for 8 hours or more. If you choose to provide a meal for the DJ they greatly appreciate it.
